Employment
The arts and humanities are the heartbeat of Montgomery County. Since 1976, AHCMC has been the engine behind this vibrant scene, distributing over $6 million in annual grants to local artists and non-profits. We are looking for a creative, tech-savvy Digital Marketing & Programs Assistant Manager to help us amplify these voices and connect our diverse community to the local cultural assets that make this county home. You’ll be joining a collaborative team where your creativity and technical skills directly impact the local creative economy. This isn’t just a “behind-the-scenes” job—you will be a key player in building virtual communities, promoting major cultural events, and working directly in our local communities.
Your Impact
- Content Creation & Storytelling: Design and launch scroll-stopping graphic, video, and written content for Facebook, Bluesky, and Instagram.
- Community Building: Grow and engage our digital audience through the Culture Spotlight weekly newsletter and our primary social channels.
- Digital Operations: Manage the daily editorial flow and promotion of CultureSpotMC.com, the go-to destination for local cultural events.
- Program Growth: Collaborate with leadership to expand the MarketPower program, helping local arts organizations grow their own audiences through the cooperative advertising and professional development.
- Public Engagement: Produce the Guide to Student Arts Activities, a bilingual publication reaching over 100,000 students and families across the county.
- Data-Driven Strategy: Use engagement data and interaction trends to refine our campaigns, develop reports, and better serve our constituents.
Who You Are
- A Visual Storyteller: You’re proficient in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite and have a knack for video editing and graphic design.
- An Early-Career Pro: You have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and a few years of professional experience in social media, marketing, design, or PR.
- A Tech Native: You’re comfortable with Mac products, cloud-based systems, and modern digital tools.
- A Creative Problem Solver: You have a great sense of humor, an energetic personality, and you enjoy building efficient systems to get things done.
- Non-Profit Minded: You have a genuine interest in the intersection of technology, marketing, and the arts.
