After-School & Summer

According to recent studies, an arts-infused education is critical to producing our next generation of leaders and the highly successful workforce the US requires to remain strong . This research confirms that the key ingredients of future workplace success are strongly linked to arts participation. That's because the arts helps  children develop:

  • critical thinking
  • creative problem solving skills
    initiative
  • perseverance and
  • self-discipline

Further, children who participate in the arts generally have better self-esteem and are more empathetic and tolerant.

AHCMC encourages arts participation in and out school. For a listing of after-school arts opportunities for students ages 3 to 18 please see The Guide To Children's Art Activities.
