The Arts & Humanities Council provides meaningful and effective professional development for teaching artists. For non-education related professional development opportunities for artists, click here.
During the school year, it's easy to lose touch with colleagues. However, working with each other, sharing information, collaborating, and networking keeps our community strong and vibrant. AHCMC created the Coffee Klatch, a monthly meeting of teaching artists to discuss relevant topics to the profession, to keep you linked in and in touch.
The Coffees will occur on the second Thursday of every month at 4:00pm. Please RSVP. Upcoming topics are:
February 11, 2010, 4PM at AHCMC Office: Case Study: Science Residency with Mosaic Artist, Carien Quiroga. Carien Quiroga just completed a science-based residency at East Silver Spring Elementary school. Hear how she used the 3rd grade science curriculum for a beautiful mosaic project. RSVP
March 11, 2010 4PM Location TBA: Developing a Character Education Residency - Presenter: Shellie Williams.
